Serving Humanity, Building a Beggar-Free Bangladesh
Ashara Charity Foundation is a non-profit organization established to stand beside suffering humanity. Guided by Islamic values of compassion and service to Allah’s creation, we care for the homeless, the hungry, the uneducated and the sick — so that no one is forced to beg and no one who needs help is left without it.
Our work spans humanitarian aid, healthcare, education, employment and shelter, anchored by a dedicated program to rehabilitate beggars and help every vulnerable person build a dignified, self-sufficient life.
Our Vision
A beggar-free Bangladesh where poverty is alleviated and every person lives a dignified, self-sufficient life through humanitarian service.
Our Mission
To spread the light of knowledge and serve suffering humanity through relief, rehabilitation, education and the ‘Thikana’ shelter.
Our Objectives
- Spread the light of knowledge.
- Build a beggar-free Bangladesh.
- Alleviate poverty.
- Serve suffering humanity.
- Seek the pleasure of Almighty Allah through humanitarian service.
Rehabilitation of Beggars
“We want to build a beggar-free Bangladesh.”
Begging is commonly seen on the streets, roads and public transport of Bangladesh. While many who beg are genuinely suffering and in need, some engage in fraudulent or organized begging — even turning it into a profitable livelihood. As a result, genuinely needy people are often deprived of assistance, and donors remain uncertain whether the person they help is truly poor.
After proper verification and assessment, genuinely poor and vulnerable individuals are brought under the foundation’s rehabilitation program. They receive food, clothing, accommodation and medical care, together with religious education and vocational training. Afterwards they are provided with capital or employment, so they can establish a sustainable livelihood through business or employment — leaving begging behind for a dignified and self-sufficient life.
